Ok so i was just checking the calender on the school's website... we don't have school on monday, my birthday February 5th, but we also don't have school on Monday, February 12th... we need to start selling tickets on wednesday when we get back (7th), as wel as thursday! REPS please let your class know whats going on
At our last meeting we talked about people buying for different committees, etc. when we get back we'll go over it once again.. please remember we will ahve a meeting tuesday when we get back! it's important that everyone be there.. we dont have much tiem until its the dance...

January 16th's Meeting

Hey everyone...
so here's the main stuff we talked about today.. alisha will probably update them..

Girls Night:

every girl from student council needs to bring whatever they signed up for. $5.00... we're letting people in at the door... there's going to be movies, make up contest, food, etc... girls please try to be there...

Valentines Day

We're going to play steal my heart away... uys can't talk to girl, and vice a versa... really easy, we just need people to sign up for cutting out enough hearts

Valentines Dance:

February 16 (one month today)...

we got it approved by Mrs Roxbrough, so we need the intinerary completed by the end of the week

the teacher chaperons: we can have 2 shifts, so thatway they can go home and be with their family (7-9, 9-11:30).

Games: We discussed them, heres what we have planned so far. The Bacehlor and Bachelorette, Battle of the Sexes (what do they mean when they say...), the scavenger hunt game, dance off (during the dancing time), karaoke (depends..), if you have anymore ideas just put them on the comment thing

Food: Veggie plattters, chips, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, punch, etc

Decorations: Balloons are our centre pieces (red heart ones), and the wine glasses again, lights probably as well, and candles... we'll keep it low key, but still pretty

Tables.. kay can you talk to your church to see if we can get those tables and table clothes again?

Dress: sem-formal

ok so when lishe and i were talking to mrs Roxbrough she said that what we could say is that this dance is a fundraising evening. So the minimum for the tickets is $8:00, but you could donate more on top the ticket prices... she said we need to figure a way we can make alot of money from this to help with cambodia

The Film Festival

This will be at the end of march... but we are having our movie release when we get back from exams... rec and student council are doing it together... if you want to be in that just post a comment on here... if you have ideas post them on here

Benefit Concert

This is going to be the last friday in april (27) or the first friday of May (4th)... Band TBA and location TBA... christine is still looking for a band

2 People in a Car until We Raise Enough Funds...

I have emailed a couple of radio stations and have gotten good feedback from them, and they would send their street teams to our location and help promote this.... we're trying to get a meeting with Grant, the manager from Superstore about using their parking lot... More TBA

While we are putting the big events up in action, try doing a bottle drive or something to bring in some more money for Cambodia... when we get back from Exams, we are setting up the penndy jars again for round two... let's try to get our classes excited na dpumped.. grade 11's did the best last time, they had the most build up.. we need to follow kay, and get our classes excited...

Valentines Dance

Bonjour mes amis! Here are some of the details of the dance... well enough info for the posters to be made

• Friday, February 16th 2007
• 7 to 11
• $8.00
• eat dinner before you come, we're only supplying drinks and snacks throughout the evening
• Group games, group is our key word
• Dancing...
• prizes
• etc

The attire for the evening is semi-formal... if girls want to wear dresses, feel free... boys can go with jeans and a nice shirt/ sweater... girls can do the same if they want.. but let's keep a little more formal... ha ha

We really need to get this set in stone as well.... alisha and i will talk to mrs bruendl and mrs roxbrough about this and get the a-ok. simon if you and jordan could talk to 4 or 5 teachers about coming and supervising that would be great (we would like other teachers to be there as well... mrs campbell, mr bruins, mrs stensaker, mr coats, etc)

Alisha and i are trying to see if we can cut a deal with westgate flower shop for some red heart helium balloons.. they're our centre pieces for the night... but we figure this night won't cost us over $100

i think ticket prices are going to be $8.00 (let's keep it cheap)

By our meeting on tuesday alisha and i will have committees split up again... if you want to be on a certain one let me know asap

Please everyone have some ideas for our meeting on tuesday... and a reminder that girls night is on wednesday, and if all the girls from student council can make, please try to be there, because we want it to be a big hit!

thoughts for the Valentines Day Dance

• no dinner... just food like: chips, desserts (brownies, cookies, etc), punch, veggie trays
• begins at 7:00
• round tables still, with candles, candies, heart confetti, and heart balloons as centre pieces
• BIG group entertainment... have to figure this out... another scavenger hunt?
• lots of dancing... that seemed to be the biggest hit

Come with lots of ideas... we have to get planning... and we need posters ASAP... desecions need to be made this week... yay for that!

TOMRROW IS THE BIG DAY!

hello loves,
tomrrow is the BIG day... here is how its going to look..

8:35-11:55: make sure you attend all of your regular classes

11:55- 12:15: your itsy bitsy lunch break (sorry!)

12:15- 3ish: Decorating begins... we would like to be done in time for the last bell, so that way people can get home, etc.

5:30: Be back at the school. During thsi time we need kevin and someone to help him with getting the mr bean stuff ready to go... we dont want any technical dificulties. We also need to get the punch made (dani has the directions), and fill all the glasses with water. Candles need to be lit at 5:50

6:00: ITS SHOWTIME.. once everyone is sitting we'll welcome everyone (which will be done by me and lishe), and then hit the play button for the firs tlittle clip of mr bean

6:20: Buffet game.... i have that convered

6:30- 7:15: dinner.... during dinner there will be door prizes handed out... etc. around 7:00 the pciture wall is opening up.. we'll have a cash box as well.

7:15- 7:30: dessert is served... the tables that went ast gets to go first... yay! PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF YOU ARE MAKING SOMETHING WITH NUTS, PLEASE PUT A LITTLE SIGN NEXT TO EAT SO PEOPLE WONT EAT IT!

7:25ish: Entertainment gets their start and they have until 9:00

9:00: dancing begins

Deserts and New scheduling for thursday

WE ARE CANNING THE DECORATION CONTEST because we dont have the trees, instead we are goin to start setting up at 12:15, that way everyone can eat lunch and what not.
SCHEADULE:

1. 12:15: Set up begins in the gym... please remember what you are doing then
2. 3:30: We want to be finished setting up\
3. 5:30: Show up at the gym, all ready to go. The cater will be there
4. 6:00: people arrive.. and the start of the mr bean, and dani welcomes
5. 6:20: buffet game starts, with dani explaining and alisha helping
6. 6:30 to 7:15ish dinner during this time we'll also do jokes/ door prizes/ whatever else we can find
7. 7:15 to 7:30: dessert
8. 7:30 - 9:00: entertainment has this time.... jepardy, charades, and runway "best outfits/ couple"
9. 9:00-10:00: dancing
10. 10:00- 11:00: clean up, be there!

Ok... we'll have a more detailed one later.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR DESSERT, make sure it can feed like 15 ppl.
